Mark has been a resident of Key West since 1994. His love of the ocean and fishing made the island a natural choice for him. He worked as a charter boat captain and guide before expanding his interest and knowledge of seafood into a successful internet business, KeyWestSeafood.com, which shipped fresh seafood packages around the country.
“Starting and managing a business like KeyWestSeafood.com taught me a lot about marketing,” says Mark. “A direct mail business like that was all about getting the word out and the business exposed to a national clientele through many mediums—internet, TV, newsletters, catalogues.”
In 2005, KeyWestSeafood.com was sold and Mark purchased property on Duval Street and developed commercial and residential spaces. The extensive project was completed in 2008 and was occupied by early 2009.
“Working as a real estate developer gave me hands on experience navigating the complexities of city and county building regulations, codes and licensing,” says Mark.
He has been a licensed real estate sales agent since 2009. He worked selling commercial real estate with Coldwell Banker Schmitt before joining At Home in Key West in 2012. He has been acquiring and restoring homes in Key West since 1998 and successfully managing his rental properties.
“I believe that my background as a small business owner, and experience in commercial and residential real estate sales and development will help buyers, sellers and investors achieve their goals.”
Mark attended the University of Wisconsin and is an honored war veteran that served in the United States Navy. He lives with his wife, a local writer, and two children, in Old Town.
