Dawn is grateful to be celebrating almost twenty years in Key West as she joins the Berkshire Hathaway team. A native of Massachusetts, she moved to Key West in 2002 and bought her first home with her then soon-to-be husband on beautiful Geiger Key in 2004. Prior to her move, Dawn graduated college with a Bachelor of Science in History. She is also a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Boston where she earned a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. She taught American History for over a decade.
After starting her family, Dawn switched gears and thrived in Key West’s vibrant hospitality industry at the historic A&B Marina Complex. She excelled at meeting the needs of her guests and in doing so, deepened her knowledge of all that Key West has to offer. Dawn’s experience in management fine-tuned her capacity to provide premier customer service. She took great pride in her ability to provide support and guidance to both clientele and staff.
Dawn skillfully uses her background in education and knowledge of the Key West real estate market to guide her clients through the home buying and selling process. She believes that great realtors and teachers share many attributes and that dedication, organization and resilience are crucial to both. Dawn has demonstrated these strengths throughout her career and looks forward to working hard for you and supporting you throughout your real estate journey.
When not working with clients and keeping her boys in line, Dawn enjoys writing, Key West history, boating, gardening and landscape design. Although no longer a New Englander, Dawn still has strong ties and she treasures her time in Massachusetts and Vermont, visiting (and hiking throughout) when she can. Dawn is an active member of the Key West Art and Historical Society, the Key West Garden Club and the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. She is a proud member of both the National and Key West Association of Realtors.
Married to local architectural photographer Rocky Gonet, Dawn is thrilled to be able to use his expertise behind the camera to showcase listings for her clients. Both are very grateful to be raising their boys in Key West. They believe that beyond the beauty of the island, it is Key West’s unique story and the kindness, talent and diversity of its people that set it apart as one of the most special places in the world.
