Bernadette Restivo is a new Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway.She is also an attorney practicing law in the Florida Keys and brings expansive and diverse experience to her real estate career.A native of Ohio, she has been a property owner in Monroe County since 1998.She resided in the Upper Keys for 10 years prior to her move to Key West.
Restivo is the 2018 Fantasy Fest Queen having tirelessly raised much needed funding for AIDS Help.She recently organized the inaugural Key Lime Aid Challenge as a fundraiser for the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys.She is a tireless fundraiser for various charities who benefit from her performances at Aqua Idol and is also an active supporter of the SPCA, Samuels House, MARC House and Sister Season Fund.
She is a former Board Member of the Key West Business Guild and a current Board Member of the Friends of the AIDS Memorial.
Restivo isbest remembered as the lead attorney for Huntsman v. Heavilin, winning the first Same Sex Marriage case in the State of Florida.She is well-known to advocate for many civil rights causes in and out of court.
While residing in the Upper Keys, she was an active member of San Pedro Catholic Church in Tavernier where she was a member of the choir. She also appeared in productions of The Keys Players in Key Largo. She was a founding board member for the Upper Keys Christmas Project. Additionally, she is a former board member of the Domestic Abuse Shelter and was a member of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, the Ocean Reef Chamber of Commerce and Key Largo Rotary.
After Hurricane Irma, Restivo spearheaded efforts to establish a donation receiving warehouse on Rockland Key.She personally managed the warehouse, coordinating semi-truck deliveries from across the country which were distributed to local non-profits in Monroe County.She became a contact person for the State of Florida disaster relief and built a team of locals and volunteers to ensure that those in need received the help they deserved.
Restivo received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Government and Communications from The American University in Washington, D.C.She earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from The University of Toledo, Ohio where she also received her Juris Doctorate.
